Brainstorm on a digital sketch pad

Not every idea starts as a neat diagram. A sketch pad gives you a free canvas to draw, paste and arrange, with the option to turn the best parts into something more structured later.

Open a sketch pad

Choose Sketch pad when you create a diagram, or start from the "Brainstorm board" template, which gives you four coloured notes labelled Ideas, Questions, Next steps and Risks.

Tools that help you think

  • Pen, pencil, marker and highlighter, with size, colour, opacity and smoothing.
  • Straight lines, arrows, rectangles and ellipses by dragging.
  • Eraser that removes a whole stroke or just cuts through it.
  • Fill bucket for closed shapes and a lasso to select strokes.
  • Sticky notes and text, plus quick shapes such as stars, hearts and speech bubbles.

Bring things in

Paste an image from the clipboard with Ctrl+V or drop an image file onto the canvas. Resize and move it like any other element, and draw over it to annotate.

Pen and touch

Stylus pressure changes the line width, and touch screens support pinch to zoom and a two-finger tap to undo. Pick a favourite colour with the star so it is one tap away next time.

Share the result

Export as PNG or SVG, copy the board as an image, or save it to your account and send a read-only link to the people you are working with.
